StephanieStephanie Sigman is a Mexican American actress. Her first role was in the film Miss Bala, a Mexican crime-drama film Miss Bala. She was then in Pioneer (2013), Spectre (2015) and Going Under (2016). Sigman was a prominent character in Narcos (2015), S.W.A.T. (2017) and the second season of both of the series. Sigman was born in Ciudad Obregon, Sonora, Mexico as the daughter of an Mexican mother and an American father, Lee Sigman, a New York Yankees scout from Kansas. By virtue of her father, she is an U.S. citizen. [2][3][4]She is an U.S. citizen through her father. His brother and baseball player Kenneth Ray Sigman married actress Barbara Mori Sigman. Before making her film debut in Rio de Oro, she began her career as Mexican television star. In 2011 she was cast in the lead role in the film Laura Guerrero in the Mexican crime-drama film Miss Bala. The film was picked as the Mexican entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 84th Academy Awards,[7][8] but it was not included on the final cut. 9 Sigman was nominated for a Dublin Film Critics' Circle Award in 2011 for her role in the film. In the following year, she was a Catalina Aguado in the Canadian documentary film Flight of the Butterflies. In 2013, Sigman starred with Pioneer the film, an Norwegian thriller.
